Community Learning Disabilities Team

The Community Learning Disabilities Team is a city wide specialist service providing a range of specialist health services for adults with a learning disability who have complex health needs. These services include a range of interventions, assessments and treatment from a multi disciplinary health team.

Key areas of service delivery include:

  • Improving health outcomes for people with a learning disability accessing Primary and Secondary mainstream health services
  • Providing creative, holistic and responsive pre-planned crisis intervention and support for people with a learning disability
  • Ensuring compliance on delivering services in line with current policy guidance and best practice, for example 'Valuing People Now' (Department of Health, 2009) 'Mansell Report' (Department of Health, 2007)and 'Healthcare for All' (Department of Health, 2008)
