Podiatry

Podiatry is the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of health problems affecting the foot and lower limb.

The Podiatry Services of Livewell Southwest offer specialist assessments and interventions for patients with a foot or related lower limb medical and general health problems, on behalf of the NHS.

Access to the service is determined by a combination of the patient's level of podiatric need and the extent to which any medical conditions place the foot at risk of serious complications. Anyone meeting the access criteria can be referred to the service by a healthcare professional, such as your GP, Nurse or Physiotherapist.

Where are these services provided?

Most patients receive their treatment in community based health clinics and so we will always try to provide your care at a convenient location for you but in some cases this will depend on your health needs and we may ask you to come to a specific location.

Home visits are only available to those with serious mobility problems that prevent them from leaving their home.

Who can use our services?

Any person of any age who meets the criteria and who live either within the Plymouth city boundary or are living in western parts of the South Hams and West Devon areas between Tavistock, South Brent and Salcombe.

Where can I go if I am not eligible to receive treatment?
