Apprenticeships

Livewell Southwest advertises all apprenticeship vacancies here.

The Government are keen for public sector employers to focus on offering Apprenticeship opportunities where possible. Further information regarding this scheme can be found at www.apprenticeships.org.uk.

As a social enterprise and major employer in the south west of England, Livewell Southwest is proud to offer an award winning apprenticeship scheme. Livewell Southwest has employed 57 apprentices into new posts since 2008.

Our scheme offers a broad range of apprenticeships across health and social care, including administrative posts in finance, estates management, hotel services and professional training and development.

Livewell Southwest also supports existing staff development, using apprenticeship frameworks to enhance job roles.

Our apprenticeship scheme has gained the attention of other health and social care providers who have seen our scheme as a successful model, and we were delighted to win the Apprenticeship Development Award at the Plymouth Herald Business Awards in April 2016.

Launch of Plymouth Apprentice Network - January 2016

Friday 8th January 2016 saw the launch of the Plymouth Apprentice Network, a partnership between Plymouth City Council, the 1000 Club, the National Apprenticeship Service and the Plymouth Apprenticeship Managers Network, of which Livewell Southwest is a member.

The Plymouth Apprentice Network has been established as the main source of information and advice to young people seeking an apprenticeship and also to employers looking to recruit apprentices in the city.

The event also celebrated the first cohort of Apprenticeship Ambassadors who recently completed their training, which included two apprentices from Livewell Southwest, namely Tracey Watkiss and Rebecca Reynolds.

The Apprenticeship Ambassadors are current and ex-apprentices who can spare a little time to share their experiences and offer advice. They will be asked to visit schools and employers as well as attend events to provide advice and guidance about apprenticeships.
