Children’s Speech and Language
The Children’s Speech and Language Service provides specialist assessment and treatment for children who, for a variety of reasons, may be experiencing difficulties communicating.
The service currently operates an open system, meaning anyone who has concerns, including parents, may make a request for help, although all forms must have parental consent before they are considered.
The service helps children who have difficulty with:
- Talking clearly
- Expressing themselves
- Social communication
- Understanding what is said to them
- Talking fluently
- Voice quality
- Feeding / swallowing
We currently have an open policy to request help from us. Click here for information on the criteria needed to make a request for help, Request for Help forms and a leaflet on how our service works.
