Livewell SouthWest are delighted to announce the first scholarship for Allied health Professionals.

Emma Canvin has been a Physiotherapist Assistant on Plym neuro ward for 4 years, during her time at Livewell Southwest she has also worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Emma has been successful at gaining a place at the University of Plymouth starting in mid-September to begin her Physiotherapy Degree Programme.

She will be funded through the Scholarship programme and will return to work for Livewell Southwest as a registered Physiotherapist upon completion of her degree.

Emma says “I feel very fortunate to have secured this scholarship opportunity with Livewell Southwest. This opportunity will allow me to focus my attention on and enjoy my studies without having the financial stresses that most students face. I also feel very privileged to know that I will be able to return to employment in Livewell Southwest upon qualifying. Without this opportunity, my time at university would likely be much more challenging and having this opportunity will reduce my stresses exceptionally. I
am looking forward to my studies over the next three years and starting my exciting and rewarding careerwith Livewell Southwest.”

Dawn Slater, Director of Clinical Practice and Development says “ I am delighted that Livewell Southwest are in a position to offer a scholarship programme for Allied Health Professionals. We have been delivering a Nursing Scholarship for several years with tremendous success and it is exciting to be able to offer this opportunity for our Allied Health
Professional colleagues. I would like to wish Emma success as she embarks on her degree.”
