Livewell Nurse awarded Queen’s Nursing Institute Executive Nurse Leadership Award 2024

Livewell Southwest Nursing Professional Lead Shona Cornish has been awarded The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI) Executive Nurse Leadership Award 2024 following successful completion of the QNI Executive Nurse Leaders Programme.

Shona Cornish was presented with this award by Professor Dame Elizabeth Nneka Anionwu DBE, QNI Vice President and Patron of the Mary Seacole Trust, at the Queen’s Nursing Institute Awards Ceremony held in the Millennium Gloucester Hotel London, on the 29 November 2024.

The programme is for senior nurse leaders working at a strategic level, such as Director, Deputy, Associate or Assistant Director or an equivalent role, in a community or primary care setting including the charity or independent sector. It is designed to help senior leaders from wide range of practice areas to advance their leadership skills to better manage and deliver community services.

Shona was one of eleven successful candidates to receive this award.

Shona Cornish, Nursing Professional Lead for Livewell Southwest, said: “It has been a privilege to be supported by Livewell to apply for the Programme. I owe thanks to so many people who have supported me on my leadership journey in giving me the confidence to apply for such a course.

“To be recognised by the QNI as a successful candidate in my application and interview process was personal recognition of my leadership journey.

“The opportunity to develop, learn and network within the senior group of leaders has been such an inspiring experience professionally and personally.”
