All of our staff are trained to respect confidentiality. We may need to share information with other people helping you, if you are concerned about this please talk to our staff.

Chlamydia Screening Programme

The Plymouth Chlamydia Screening Programme offers testing to young people under 25 across a wide variety of services in the community.

There is no need to be referred for testing. No need for examinations, it’s just a pee in a pot for men and a self-taken swab for women.

The service we all offer is free and confidential. We deal with all the results for all the services offering testing and arrange treatment to anyone that needs it. We also offer advice over the telephone.

Tests are available in the following services:

  • All GP’s
  • The Zone
  • Contraception and sexual health clinics
  • Youth services
  • Some Pharmacies (including city centre Boots stores), or
  • Request a postal kit through www.freetest.me

Chlamydia is invisible. Chlamydia is serious. Chlamydia is easily spread. Look out for the blue and pink kits near you.

For more information please visit www.chlamydiascreening.nhs.uk.

Anyone over the age of 24 who needs a test should visit their GP or the GU Medicine Clinic at Derriford Hospital. A clinic is also held on Tuesday afternoons in the CCASH suite of the Cumberland Centre. Appointments must be booked by ringing 01752 431124.
