How to book a visit
Reception is open from 8.30am to 19.30pm, seven days a week, and is the first point of contact for visitors and other professionals.
Visiting times are between 13.00 – 18.30pm.
We have a family room in reception, available for visits from relatives or friends. Children accompanied by an adult are permitted for visits in the family room.
Visits require booking in advance via reception (01752 435434). You will be given a 30-minute time slot, however allowances can be made for longer visits should visitors be travelling from out of area.
There is more time flexibility on the weekend following discussion with visitors and nursing staff.
Due to the size of the room, we can only accommodate two visitors at any time.
Meal times
Families are encouraged to avoid visiting during mealtimes, unless they are accompanying the patient on leave off the ward to eat out.
Mealtimes are held at:
Breakfast: 08:00-09:00 (Mon-Sat) – 08:00-09:30 (Sun)
Lunch:12:00-12:30 (Everyday)
Dinner: 17:00-17:30 (Everyday)
Supper: 20:30 (Everyday)
Arriving at the Unit
When you arrive at the unit, you will need to use the call bell at the main door – press the green bell and select Glenbourne – then reception will buzz you through to the reception area, where you will need to sign in and wait to be taken to the ward.
On admission carers/relatives will receive a carer’s information pack and a welcome call from the ward which will detail information around visiting access and availability.
Parking at Glenbourne
Unfortunately, due to limited parking there is only parking available for staff directly outside the unit-patients and visitors are encouraged to pay and park at the multistorey car park which are on the UHP site.
