Mental Heath Act: your rights
The Mental Health Act is a law that tells people with a mental health disorder what their rights are and how they can be treated. For more information click here.
The Mental Health Act Department is based at the Glenbourne Unit. The department provides support to the mental health services within the organisation by providing advice, completing the administrative tasks relating to the MHA’83 and by monitoring that the requirements of the legislation are adhered to. The team also co-ordinates any appeals to the Tribunals or Hospital Managers.
