Wellbeing & Public Health

Life expectancy in the UK is at record levels, but millions of Brits are spending their retirement in ill health. Living healthily in middle age can double your chances of being healthy when you are 70.

We want the people of Plymouth to take control of their health now, so they can reap the rewards for years to come. Our One You Plymouth programme provides free advice and support on how to boost your physical and mental wellbeing.

Everyday behaviours, such as poor diet, not enough exercise, too much alcohol and smoking, cause nearly half of all deaths (40 per cent) in England. These negative public health habits cost the NHS more than £11 billion a year.

Our wellbeing specialists can help you break these habits, so you feel less stressed and your sleep improves. We are also providing free health checks to people aged 40 to 74.
