Update (11/06/25)
We have been informed that phase 3 of the carriageway works on Mount Gould Road is now complete. The road is now open as normal.
Update (09/06/25)
We have been informed that weather permitting, phase 3 of the carriageway works on Mount Gould Road will be carried out on Wednesday 11 June. We would encourage any staff who are able to work from an alternative location on this date to do so, to help reduce the volume of traffic on site.
Mount Gould Road will be closed from the junction with Dartmoor View to the junction with Faringdon Road, however, managed access to and from the Mount Gould site will be supported by operatives from Highways. Please note that to ensure safe movement during this period of work, it may be necessary for the operatives from Highways to hold vehicles for a short period of time at the identified points on the map below.
Entrance 2 will remain open until 09:00 on Wednesday 11 June. From this point onwards, it will be barriered and all vehicles must enter site by the top entrance, closest to Faringdon Road, until informed otherwise. Temporary changes to traffic flow on site will be in place, with the partial reversal of the one-way system for Local Care Centre traffic as per previous traffic management arrangements. This diversion will start at 09:00 on Wednesday 11 June.
Please be aware that issuing of parking fines and towing of vehicles will be in operation throughout the closed area during the period of work, with Plymouth Highways stating: “We are obliged to enforce parking fines to the sum of £70 for vehicles that obstruct our works area. Please be aware that we are also permitted to tow any and all vehicles that prevent us from carrying out our works.”
Update (27/5/25):
Weather permitting, phase 2 of the carriageway works on Mount Gould Road will be carried out from Wednesday 4 June, with a provisional completion date of Friday 6 June. We would encourage any staff who are able to work from an alternative location on these dates to do so to reduce the volume of traffic on site.

Phase 3 of the carriageway works is due to take place a few days after the completion of Phase 2, and updates will be sent out when we have been given a confirmed date and timescale. There will be roadworks taking place in wider Lipson area during June/July – these won’t directly affect access to Mount Gould Hospital, but may cause temporary diversions on the way to the site.
Update (01/05/25):
Phase 1 of patching work on Mount Gould Road is now complete and the road has reopened.

Phases 2 and 3 of the carriageway works are currently due to take place in late May/early June and further updates will be sent out when we have been given confirmed dates and timescales.
