Community Therapy Team: Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists help adults move better, feel stronger, and stay safe at home. We work with people who may have had an illness, injury, or long-term condition that affects how they move or do everyday things.

We visit people at home to check how they’re doing and create a plan to help them improve.

Physiotherapists work closely with other health workers, carers, and families to make sure everyone is working towards the same goals.

Our aim is to support people stay as independent as possible and feel confident in their daily life.

Our team of physiotherapists is here to help you start your journey to feeling better. If you feel ready to join in and help plan your own care, this is a great time to begin.

We can give you advice on equipment and walking aids, and show you exercises to help with your breathing, weak muscles or joints, balance problems, or recovery after an operation or illness. Sometimes you may only need one visit and some guidance about local classes or support near you. If you need a bit more help, we can ask our specially trained therapy support workers to check your technique and make sure you are practising safely between visits.

We will keep checking your progress and changing your plan when needed, until we feel you are able to manage things on your own.
