Health Visitors

Health visitors are qualified nurses or midwives who have undertaken additional specialist training in Public Health. We provide a universal service for all families, as well as targeted support based on individual needs, supporting families and their children from pregnancy through to the age of five.

Health visitors offer both antenatal and postnatal care, building positive relationships with families to help children learn, grow, and reach their full potential. We monitor and assess children’s growth and development, while promoting healthy lifestyles and good nutrition.

We work with individuals, families, groups, and communities, and can coordinate with other services to ensure families receive any extra support they may need.

Families will need support at different times, so the service will adapt and change to meet the needs of each individual child or family.
