Another Plymouth business is celebrating after achieving Bronze status within Livewell Southwest’s Wellbeing at Work Award programme and receiving recognition for its work to improve the health and wellbeing of its employees.

HellermannTyton has been working alongside the Wellbeing at Work team for about a year and has established 30 Wellbeing Champions, an annual health needs assessment, and a health and wellbeing steering group made up of all levels of staff.

Nita Dodd, Advanced Health Improvement Practitioner at Livewell Southwest, said:  “HellermannTyton pride themselves on meeting and if possible exceeding their customers’ expectations through the focus, commitment and dedication of their employees by ensuring they feel supported to stay healthy both physically. They are looking at the bigger picture in ensuring our employees are happy and healthy while at work and found that the Health Needs assessment results helped them to  identify up to date issues and relevant ways to address employees concerns, through supporting them with sleep issues, healthy eating, exercise, dealing with bereavement and mindfulness’.

In order to achieve a Wellbeing at Work Bronze Award, businesses have to set up a working group, carry out a workplace needs assessment, a health and safety assessment and establish wellbeing champions who are responsible for helping colleagues to keep healthy.  Throughout the process they are supported by Wellbeing at Work Advisor who offers support and guidance.

Lisa Brown, HR, at HellermannTyton said “We are proud of our team, and I am pleased to say all of our Senior Managers and Team Leaders here at HellermannTyton have attended the Wellbeing champion training, which they thoroughly enjoyed. We would like to thank the Livewell South West team for their support in helping us achieve the Bronze award and look forward to working with them, our Senior Management Team, Wellbeing Champions and our Steering group to work towards the Silver award in 2020’.

HellermannTyton will be presented with their award at the Wellbeing at Work Annual Update on  29 January at Boringdon Golf Club.
