Visiting patients at Livewell sites

by | 9th April 2021 | News

In line with national guidance, we are once again allowing some limited visiting to patients at Livewell sites, in a safe and COVID secure way.

To keep everyone safe, we are limiting visitors to one per patient, for one hour, once a day.

Under compassionate circumstances, for example, where a patient is at the end of their life or in other exceptional circumstances, the ward manager has the discretion to extend visiting.

Anyone showing symptoms of coronavirus should not visit, nor should anyone who has been in contact with someone confirmed or showing symptoms even if these are mild or intermittent. If the visitors have symptoms they should isolate for 10 days and organise a test; members of the household should also isolate.

Visitors will be asked to help us limit the spread of the virus by wearing a surgical face mask, sanitising their hands on entering and exiting the site and observing 2m social distancing.  Visitors will also be asked to provide the ward with their contact details for track and trace and should register with a member of staff when they arrive.

Patients who are positive for COVID cannot have visitors, except under compassionate circumstances.

It may be necessary to suspend visiting in some areas if there is an increased risk of infection.

We will review this approach to visiting in line with NHS and Government guidelines and local Public Health advice. It may become necessary to temporarily stop visiting in any ward or area affected by an outbreak.

A note on Carers

Should a carer wish to take on some caring responsibilities during their visit we will ensure that they have the access and support necessary to enable them to do this in the time available.
