Plymouth City Council held an event this week for the 30 organisations who helped in the operation to remove the bomb in Keyham earlier this year.

Hosted by the Plymouth Lord Mayor and Devon & Cornwall Police, representatives from a host of organisations came along to the Life Centre for a big thank you!

Livewell Southwest joined organisations including the Royal Navy, Plymouth Community Homes, British Red Cross, and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, not to mention the dozens of businesses that helped repair the gardens of the properties most impacted, when the bomb was removed.

Geoff Baines, Deputy Director of Livewell Southwest, attended on behalf of Livewell Southwest. He said: “I felt very proud to attend the recognition event that acknowledged the care and commitment from all of the teams and individuals from Livewell Southwest who selflessly put aside their usual duties and family life to support our community in a time of urgent need.

“It was also an honour to attend and extend Livewell’s appreciation to all of the other agencies, businesses, community groups  and volunteers who worked together at this extraordinary time.”
