The Livewell Community Substance Use Service (formerly known as the complex needs team) is composed of a multidisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, psychologists, doctors, non-medical prescribers and support workers, who have specialist skills and knowledge designed to support people with substance use issues.
The team offer evidenced based interventions such as, specialist prescribing services, community detoxification services, psychological interventions and complex key working to clients – in partnership with Harbour Service or Community Mental Health Services. These clients have complex mental health and substance use issues which require a multi-agency approach to provide best quality of service
Livewell Southwest Community Substance Use Service is commissioned, supported and funded by Plymouth City Council and forms part of The Plymouth Alliance.
The Plymouth Alliance provides services that support people who have needs in relation to homelessness and may also have support needs around substance misuse, mental health, offending and risk of exploitation. The aim of The Plymouth Alliance is to coordinate a complex needs system which will enable people to be supported flexibly, receiving the right care, at the right time in the right place.
