Changes to the way we support you

by | 28th March 2020 | News

Important information for people using Livewell Southwest services

As part of the ongoing response to Coronavirus and COVID-19 we need to make changes to the way we work so we can continue to provide essential health and social care services to the most vulnerable people in our community.

This includes taking steps to keep our staff as safe as possible so they can continue to provide that vital care and support.

As a result, where possible we are now supporting people through video consultations or telephone support and advice.

We will only request to visit you at home or invite you to attend one of our clinics where video or telephone consultations are not possible or where we have identified that it is more beneficial to you as a patient or service user.

All our staff are taking steps to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus and if you are given a face to face appointment we expect you to help with this by maintaining good levels of hand hygiene.

It is really important that you let us know beforehand if you are self-isolating.

If you are on a waiting list we will be in touch with you to make sure that you are safe and have plans in place to manage at home during this time. We are doing this as quickly as we can.

We do not expect people to re-present to their GP in order to be referred back to us.

If we do not get in touch with you, please assume that your referral has been closed.

We will continue to provide essential support and care to those who need it, while continuing to do everything we can to prevent unnecessary physical contact and maintain social distancing

We will continue to support those in need of urgent support.

If your situation changes and you are in need of urgent support, please contact us again on 01752 668000 and we will review your situation with you.

If you have any health concerns, please continue to raise these with your GP.
