On Wednesday 6 November, the exciting annual Plymouth Wellbeing Connections event made its return, bringing together businesses, communities, and individuals passionate about health and wellbeing and enabling them to share ideas, learn from one another, and celebrate the outstanding work being done across Plymouth.
Councillor Mary Aspinall, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care welcomed 60 exhibitors and over 300 attendees to the opening of the event at the YMCA in Honicknowle, saying: “This is a really great event that shows how everything is interwoven in the city, how much support is out there, and how we can all work together to improve the lives of our citizens.”
Plymouth Wellbeing Connections is an annual event, organised by Livewell Southwest’s Wellbeing Team in partnership with YMCA Plymouth, and the team hope to make it even bigger next year. Greg Price, Health Improvement Manager with Livewell’s Wellbeing Team, said: “We are so pleased that Wellbeing Connections 2024 was a success. It was amazing to see so many people connecting and creating new partnership across Plymouth.
“We hope these connections will help all those that attended to further strengthen their passion and commitment to the health and wellbeing of the communities we live and work in, and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.”
YMCA Plymouth Chief Executive Tom Lavis said: “YMCA Plymouth is proud to host this city-wide event, showcasing an amazing array of health and wellbeing organisations in Plymouth. This gathering provides an invaluable opportunity for individuals to engage with various organisations, plus stimulate positive conversations to explore potential collaborations and partnerships. By working together, we can enhance the provision of services across our great city and beyond, having the greatest impact on the people we serve.”
