Livewell Southwest provides a wide range of physiotherapy services to the people of Plymouth, South Hams and West Devon. Physiotherapy is used to help people to regain movement and restore function if they’ve been affected by an illness or injury. It can also be used as part of a wider programme of treatment for long-term health conditions, or physical disabilities, and to help reduce the risk of injury in the future.
Physiotherapy services support people with a wide variety of different health needs, from early years through to older people. Our service regularly provides treatment to people recovering from head injuries, fractures and other physical trauma, through to neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease and Multiple Sklerosis.
We have a strong team of compassionate physiotherapists, who provide high-quality, effective and evidenced-based assessments, treatment and care. The physiotherapy service is delivered as both an inpatient and outpatient service, as well as in people’s own homes.
Access into our services varies from team to team, but the majority receive referrals from GPs, secondary care consultants and other allied health professionals. The Livewell Southwest physiotherapy services covers a multitude of specialisms including: rehabilitation (neurological, inpatient, community-based or cardiac); musculoskeletal; urgent care; mental health and palliative care.
